Mineral Mapping
SensIR deploys Hyperspectral units in the 400nm to 2500nm range for mineral analysis of drill core, rock chips and other geological samples for mining, oil and gas applications. Sensir is extending the range to include the MWIR and Raman instruments. Raman produces complimentary features to FTIR spectra. The SensIR Raman Hyperspectral scanner is able to capture real time spectra and not plagued by background and water issues seen in FTIR.
Chemical Imaging
Hyperspectral imaging is an emerging diagnostic modality for medical applications, especially in disease diagnosis and image-guided surgery. Spatially resolved spectral imaging provides diagnostic information about the tissue physiology, morphology, and composition. Currently, SensIR produces instrumentation for micro-array diagnostic platforms and airborne methane detection.
Food Processing
In processing food, hyperspectral imaging, combined with intelligent software, enables sorters to identify and remove defects, non-compliant food, and foreign material that are invisible to traditional camera and laser sorters. A few application areas include the ability to identify fat content in meats, characterization of grains and powders, spoiled meats, fruits, and vegetables, and most importantly food pathogens.
Agriculture
Airborne hyperspectral imaging is used for crop identification and health, soil health and water content, as well as lake and river water health. Early detection of plant diseases and insect infestation is crucial for farmers and agricultural managers who want to reduce economic loss due to these threats. Drone deployment allows the ability to achieve high spatial resolution and is cost effective airborne solution.

What Is Hyperspectral Imaging?
Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI) acquires a three-dimensional data set called hypercube with two spatial dimensions and one spectral dimension
